Brigid’s Day Martini

We celebrated all things Brigid for Brigid’s weekend. She was the Celtic Goddess of poetry, healing and fire and patron Saint to milking, fishing, brewing and farming. What didn’t she do?! And as another Goddess and champion of Brigid Santina Kennedy says “She was basically the OG influencer of Irish Food, drink and hospitality!”

We have made a Brigid’s Day Martini using Valentia Island Vermouth and Bertha’s Revenge Milk Gin. Bertha’s revenge is named after the famed Kerry cow Bertha who died an old lady, just shy of her 49th birthday, held two Guinness World Records and helped raise over €75,000 for cancer research, and we, of course used Mary’s Beara Bitters.

1st of February is also Imbolc, the first day of Spring in the Celtic calendar – wahoooooo. We are saying slán to Winter and all her wisdom and hello to new beginnings, new life, fertility and wishes for the year ahead.

These beautiful illustrations have been created by Alyssa who works with us on production and has recently graduated from a Graphic Design Course. Congratulations Alyssa in your excellent design work and of course your graduation!
